Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. James 5:13-15
This week I would like to request prayers for two men whom I have known since I have started serving as a Chaplain inside of St. Clair Correctional. These men live in our Faith/Character Based Honor Dorm and have been longtime friends of most everybody in the dorm. They are both older and have been experiencing health problems over the years, but in this last week their condition has worsened. I usually talk with these men several times a week as I make my rounds through the dorm and have always been blessed by their smiles and how their joy was never suppressed by their incarceration. Pray that these men would be comforted and that their pain would be minimal. Pray that they would be at peace with their Father in heaven and that in these last days their lives might continue to impact those around them for the glory of God.
