Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. Psalm 138:7
This week I would like to encourage you to pray for protection for all the staff members that serve daily inside of prisons throughout the United States. Prisons are sometimes very violent places for these men and women to work at. Many prisons host conditions that are recipes for violence. Such conditions include overcrowding, gang activity, insecure facilities and a culture of disrespect between staff and prisoners.
Pray for the safety of the officers who enter these facilities each day and put their lives on the line. Also, pray for protection for the administrative staff, Wardens and Chaplains who interact with the prison population daily. Pray that each person would use wisdom in their interactions with the prison inmates and that they would always remember to be courteous and respectful. Pray that the love for God would continue to grow amongst inmates and staff and that their hearts would continue to turn toward God.
